Welcome to the second GPRV workshop! We aim to bring together a few dozen researchers, in the wonderful setting of All Souls College (Oxford, UK) to discuss recent developments on the characterisation, modelling and mitigation of stellar activity signals in radial velocity RV datasets.
In this workshop, we will reflect on the amazing progress made since the first GPRV workshop was held in 2022, as well as new challenges that have emerged since, and look ahead to a new generation of Extreme Precision RV surveys. Topics we hope to touch upon on include
Combining time- and wavelength-domain modelling of activity signals
New insights from theoretical models and solar observations
How to fold these insights into data-driven models
"New" effects relevant to next-generation surveys, such as supergranulation and activity cycles
Organising the community – ongoing collaborations, benchmark datasets, blind exercises, etc…
We also welcome suggestions from participants on additional topics to cover.
As with the first workshop, this will be a small, highly interactive hybrid event, with up to 50 in-person participants, and ample time for discussion in the program.
